Policies and Procedures

Attendance: Classes are non-refundable, whether you attend or not. We offer make-up classes either two weeks prior or two weeks after the missed class. Please email us at blissacademy@gmail.com to arrange a make-up class.

If students miss class two weeks before a performance, they may not be permitted to perform

Illness and Safety: Bliss is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for your students. Students should wash and sanitize their hands prior to class and upon returning home. The studio is sanitized between classes and deep-cleaned weekly. If your student has any of the following symptoms, they will not be allowed in class:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Aches

  • Chills

  • Sneezing

  • Runny or stuffy nose

  • Sore throat

  • Shortness of breath

  • Labored breathing

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Stomach ache

  • Diarrhea

  • Nausea

  • Pink Eye

  • Molluscum

  • Athlete’s Foot

Students must be symptom-free for one full week before returning to the studio. If your student is sick, please keep them home. Make-up classes are available.

Competition Team Attendance: Students are allowed three (3) absences from August–December and three (3) absences from January–May.  For dance companies, only (2) absences can be on choreography days. If more classes are missed, students will be removed from all dances/routines and will not receive a refund on costumes, tuition, or competition fees.

Classroom Etiquette: To avoid injury and respect other students, students that are more than 15 minutes late to a class must ask the teacher for permission to participate. Teachers reserve the right to refuse participation and may require the student to sit and observe.

Bliss is committed to creating a respectful environment and creating a positive experience for all teachers and students. If a student’s behavior becomes inappropriate or disrespectful, they will be given one warning, then asked to sit for the remainder of the class. If poor behavior continues, the parent will be notified. If the behavior persists, students may be expelled from Bliss.

We use the following acronym to help teach our students appropriate etiquette

  • Ready to rock  - Mind and body!

  • Early or on time

  • Store phones away!

  • Proper attire worn

  • Eat outside of the classroom - no gum ever!

  • Team work!

Financial Responsibility: Autopay is ran on the 1st of each month. We also accept checks (payable to Bliss) if turned into the Life Center front desk, by the 1st of each month. Late payments will result in a $10 fee. To avoid late fees, make sure you have an up to date autopay card on file. If your account is unpaid past 30 days, your child will not be allowed to participate in classes. To view invoices and payments, add classes, change the card on file (etc) you may log onto your account at anytime.

Costumes: Costumes are ordered at the beginning of each dance year and used for both the winter and spring recital. The Performance team costume is around $65 and the Competition costumes range from $85-$100.

Performance teams wear the same costume all year long. Comp teams get two costumes all year long.

Drop Off/Pick Up: To ensure the safety of your student, please follow these guidelines when dropping off and picking up. After classes have concluded, students must remain inside the main lobby of Life Center until their ride is in the parking lot.

Bliss is not responsible for your student once the class has concluded. Please be on time to pick up your student. You will be charged a $10 fee if you are more than 15 minutes late.
